Spring Holiday

Every year I have a fortnight's holiday at the end of February / early March and 2010 was no exception. The big change this year, however, was that I didn't have a holiday as such. Between scouring the country for a new car, DIY at my brothers house, working in my mums garden and getting a 37 year old Land Rover running for the first time in four years, I reckon it was harder work than work...

Penrith - 6th March

A brief stop in Penrith for lunch on the long drive back to Scotland.

Oxford - 2nd March

A birthday treat, visiting Oxford in some beautiful sunshine. Last time I had been there it had rained, and rained, and rained...

Land Rover

Not so much an adventure, but trying to get a 37 year old Land Rover back on the road after four years of neglect certainly proved to be a challenge.

Brecon - 27th February

A mates stag do with a difference - climbing Pen y Fan, Cribyn and visiting Brecon. Of course, nothing went to plan the entire day, but eveyone enjoyed it all the same!

Battle & Tunbridge - February 25th

A day wasted hanging around in Sussex, visiting Battle, perhaps one of the most overpriced and moderately important historical sites in the British Isles, a brief visit to Royal Tunbridge Wells, and then a long wait in a very wet Uckfield.

To Sussex - February 23rd/24th

Ever wondered how to get from Somerset to Sussex the long way? Go via Blackburn, it's great fun... At least I got a new car though, which was the main plan!
