Riley 14/6 Lynx 2-door. (1933)

For 1933, the Alpine Tourer models were replaced by the new Lynx design. Initially, it was only available as a two-door model, which may be seen as surprising following the tradition of 4-door Alpine models. However, after just a year in production, the design was modified to provide the expected rear doors for the 1934 Lynx. Nevertheless, this was one of the more succesful 14/6 models. It is thought that around 80 were built in the first year, and more for the four door model.
One novel feature of these early Lynxes were the 'disappearing hoods', where a small lift up panel behind the rear seats revealed a recess into which the hood disappeared. Of course, this had to be done by hand, unlike today's examples of this idea. Beneath the hood compartment, there was also a sizeable boot, with the spare wheel mounted on the lid.
