Riley 9 San Remo. (1927-29)
By the 1927 Motor Show, the Riley 9 range had been extended, a new saloon added to the range. The San Remo was the cheapest of the two saloons on offer, at £265, but this reflected the fact that it was actually a more standard design. Visually similar to the Monaco, the car sat higher, both from the ground and in the height of the body. It was Fabric bodied, with 4 centrally hinged doors, and Grey Moquette upholstery.
The car doesn't seem to have sold particularly well, and after just two years it was replaced by the more upmarket Biarritz saloon, which proved to be a much greater success. Just one example of the San Remo has been identified, making it almost impossible to project a production figure.
