Riley 15/6 Lynx. (1936-37)
Some records suggest that the Lynx was a late addition to the 15/6 range, unusually not having been made available from launch. However, some 44T 15/6 cars have been identified, which (unless they are later conversions / specials) suggests that the car may have been availble to special order from the beginning.
It is unclear what caused the delay in the official launch, as the chassis was not so dissimilar from the 14/6 which had carried the Lynx body for several years. However, once launched the Lynx 15/6 proved to be a slow seller, with the general trend away from open cars to closed saloons, and so it was dropped within a year, although again a few later cars may have slipped out as special orders.
