Riley 9 Biarritz Plus. (1930-32)
The Biarritz had been launched launched in 1928 as a fabric bodied de-luxe model on the 9 chassis. At the time it featured a variety of novel features to differentiate it, and place it more upmarket than the standard Monaco. An improved 'Plus' model was introduced for 1931, now being half panelled with a metal lower body and fabric covering above the coachline only. Sales boomed, with perhaps as many as 350 being built the first year, but as old models were cleared out during 1932 to make way for the new range, the Biarritz was one of the casualties, with very few being produced.
