Riley 2½ Adelphi. (1937-39)

The Adelphi proved to be the most popular body on the Big 4 chassis, accounting for over half of production. The body was essentially that already in use on the 15/6 and indeed 8/90 chassis. It was an elegant and spacious 6-light 5 seater saloon, capable of over 80mph with the 2½L engine. It also formed the basis of the 1939 16hp 'Saloon' which followed after the Nuffield takeover.
