1937 Riley 9 Touring Saloon (ENU656)
The 9 Touring Saloon used the Briggs Body with the new projecting boot, on the traditional nine chassis. It was part of Riley's last desperate attempts at survival, but was not to be. It was very similar visually to the previous year's Merlin, and the public perception seems to have been of a low-quality, and slightly suspect body mounted on an ageing chassis. The nine, it seems, was out of favour. Perhaps as many as 120 were produced, with a handful of those possibly being early 1938 models, albeit probably without the normal model year changes.
