RILEY PRODUCTION FIGURES

as Old as the Industry, as modern as the Hour
Below is a Year-by-Year Breakdown of the production figures for Rileys from the launch of the Riley 9 in 1926 through until production was halted for the war in 1940/1. The figures are based on Chassis Numbers, which generally referred to model years (starting July - October depending on year) rather than calendar years and are therefore not necessarily accurate reflections of 12 month periods. However, They do give some indication of Production levels for the period.

Totals Column is a very rough suggestion indeed !

Post war production in Coventry and Abingdon.

Production transferred to Abingdon in c1948, with the closure of the Foleshill Plant in Coventry. From 1956 Riley cars were built at a variety of BMC plants, and production figures have not yet been discovered!
